This is a well-written book on a widely overlooked issue in oncology: cancer-related fatigue. Although there is a thorough multidisciplinary approach to the problem, some issues are not covered in the book: in particular, there is no mention of fibromyalgia, no comparison between cancer fatigue syndrome and cancer-related fatigue patients, which might have been of interest. The treatment-related fatigue chapter should have covered the subject more broadly, in particular hormonal abnormalities related to chemotherapy and/or radiotherapy and/or surgery, for example thyroidal abnormalities. However, I think that the main aspects of cancer-related fatigue are well covered and I read the chapters with interest and curiosity.
In conclusion, this is a book that I strongly recommend to students, general practitioners and, in particular, to oncologists, and last but not least to patients living with cancer, their families and friends.
